However, it is a twist that I am now an air-conditioning technician in Canberra. I have been in Australia for 9 years and am in love with the country. I had great time and learned a lot living in Japan. I’m looking forward to using my experiences to work with you!

I can work on conversational Japanese with you, practicing your speaking and listening skills.

A father who has been living in Australia for six years. While I was a university student, I came to Australia with a working holiday visa and worked at a Japanese restaurant. During the time, I taught Japanese to people from various nationalities. Let’s enjoy expressing and understanding the Japanese language together. Lessons are generally based on topics that interest the student. I can cover a wide range of subjects including anime, games, music, drama, sports, and travel. Of course, I’m also happy to teach using textbooks if preferred. In Japan, it is said that words carry a soul—this concept is known as kotodama. Let’s study Japanese together and explore not only the language, but also the rich culture and enjoyment that comes with it.

Hi, my name is Yusa, Native Japanese speaker. I grew up in Toyota (Car city) in Japan. I have been in Australia since last year.

My hobbies are playing basketball, travelling, eating ,watching movies and hiking.

What I like about Japan is delicious food, nature and culture. I love fresh seafood and Japanese traditional food!!

About myself:

My name is Linh and I was born in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

I graduated from university in Japan in 2019, the same year I took and passed JLPT N2. I then spent over 2 years working in a large Japanese company as one of the only 5 foreign employees. In total, I had lived in Japan for almost 7 years.

Upon returning to my home country of Viet Nam in 2022, I worked briefly as a freelance Japanese-Vietnamese translator before deciding on a change of careers that led me to Australia. I am currently a Master’s student in Canberra and loving it!

About my teaching style:

As someone who was once new to Japanese, I understand your struggles! I am patient and willing to adapt to your learning style and goals. As a side note, I love Japanese music and would be happy to incorporate songs into our lessons!

I can also teach using English and/or Vietnamese.

I welcome students of all ages, and offer the following specialties:

  • Beginner Japanese

  • Daily conversational Japanese

  • Japanese business manners & business communication (verbal/written) – great for adults who work with Japanese partners & clients, or students interested in living and working in Japan in the future!
